Our commitment, investment in technologies and attitudes to reduce the environmental impact of our company is always continuous, applied at each production stage.
Water reuse
Dorym reuses 100% of the water of the production process.
The water used for processing the stones goes to the treatment wells with a storage capacity of 40,000 liters, where the water goes through the decanting process and the mud from the stone dust is separated and stored for disposal.
Rainwater collection
Dorym is aware of the preservation of the most important resource, water. That's why we have a rainwater collection unit, with a capacity of 50,000 liters, which distributes this water to several of our activities, including to feed the machines in our manufacturing sector.
Solid Waste
Correctly directing solid waste from our activities is essential, so we have an area dedicated to the separation and proper disposal. Packaging materials, such as metals and cardboard, are sold to recycling cooperatives, and the value is reversed in actions and improvements for the company's employees.
The leftovers from the marble and granite cuts are evaluated to identify the best destination for each of the pieces. Most common uses of these leftovers are:
• Manufacture of thresholds and floors;
• Manufacturing of samples;
• Crush it again and reusing;
Next steps
Being integrated with the environment is a continuous pursuit of Dorym, so our next investments will be in photovoltaic energy, being self-sufficient in all our energy needs, in capturing and storing water for production and evolving our sustainable posture.
